Kingston Lane as a part of a tight knit group of people turned family. They originally met three years ago
when they had an amazing date, for Henley to ghost Juliet. Henley fights his attraction to Juliet for the longest time, and she convinces him to try the friends with benefits scenario, because she can't not have her feel of him, and will not let another man think of touching her. Juliet hopes the friends with benefits would allow Henley to see that they are for each other, but that comes with prices to pay for both her and Henley.
Henley has his own demons to fight from a tragic loss as a young teenager. He works to move past them and just when he thinks he has and is ready to take the next step, something happens to scare him and he reverts right back to old Henley.
Juliet knows that if you love him you wait, and she did. TL Swan never disappoints, and I can't wait to read the next book in the Kingston Lane series, wonder who it will be!
ok one major ick of this book…. when he questions if they love each other because she won't do anal. The spice was great, could have been more, could have had a little more dirty talk, but it wasn't about that for them.
Their relationship was about a woman in love not giving up on a broken man that never recovered from childhood loss. I liked this book but there were parts that felt too toxic for me.
... Read moreOkay, so you've read "My Temptation" by T L Swan, or maybe you're just curious about the buzz around the Kingston Lane series. But have you ever thought about how perfectly this book translates into a Pinterest aesthetic? Seriously, as I was reading, my mind was just brimming with potential mood board ideas for Juliet and Henley's captivating, often tumultuous, love story. If you're anything like me and love visualizing your reads, this one gives you so much to work with!
Let's talk about Henley first. He's the epitome of a brooding, damaged hero, right? You can almost picture his Pinterest board: lots of dark, moody blues and greys, perhaps mirroring the "dark blue background" mentioned in the book cover description. Think stormy skies, deep ocean hues, and maybe even a hint of old-money aesthetic mixed with a rugged, unkempt charm. The "man from the chest up, wearing a light-colored long-sleeved shirt" on the cover perfectly captures that initial glimpse of mystery and underlying vulnerability. For his aesthetic, I'd pin images of classic cars, worn leather jackets, a solitary figure looking out a window, or hands clasped in thought (just like on the cover!). He's got that quiet intensity that just screams for a curated collection of melancholic beauty and hidden strength.
Then there's Juliet. She's resilient, passionate, and refuses to give up on Henley, even when he makes it incredibly difficult. Her aesthetic would be a beautiful contrast to his. Imagine pops of warm, inviting colors – maybe terracotta, soft creams, or even vibrant greens, symbolizing growth and hope. Her Pinterest board might feature cozy bookshelves, a sun-drenched window seat, a steaming mug of tea, or images of women with fierce, determined eyes. She's the light to his darkness, the unwavering force that slowly chips away at his walls. You'd see pins of comfortable, stylish home interiors (reflecting the tight-knit Kingston Lane community vibe), blooming flowers, and maybe even some fierce fashion that shows off her inner strength.
The setting of Kingston Lane itself offers a delightful aesthetic. It's this close-knit neighborhood where everyone knows everyone, creating a sense of comfort and community, but also a breeding ground for drama and gossip. For a Kingston Lane mood board, I'd think charming, tree-lined streets, quaint house exteriors with welcoming porches, communal garden parties, and interiors that blend modern comfort with a touch of classic elegance. It's the kind of place where friendships run deep, but secrets linger just beneath the surface.
And finally, the dynamic between Juliet and Henley – that's where the real aesthetic gold is. Their "friends with benefits" arrangement, the push and pull, the unspoken longing, and the eventual surrender to love. This part of the Pinterest board would be all about raw emotion and intense chemistry. Think dramatic black and white photos, intertwined hands, meaningful glances, rain-soaked kisses, or even abstract art that conveys longing and healing. It’s about the journey from emotional turmoil caused by Henley's "tragic loss" to the slow, painstaking process of Juliet loving him through it. You'd include visuals that hint at the "spice" and passion mentioned in the review, but also the emotional weight of their story, showing the complexities of a love that's both challenging and deeply rewarding.
So, if you're looking to create a "My Temptation" Pinterest board, start by thinking about these contrasts: Henley's dark intensity versus Juliet's vibrant resilience, the cozy community feel against the backdrop of personal battles, and the dramatic evolution of their relationship. The official "My Temptation" book cover provides a fantastic starting point, but the story itself offers endless inspiration for capturing its unique blend of romance, angst, and ultimate hope. Happy pinning!
