Outfits I wore in Utah

When I was packing for this trip I only packed black tall cow girl boots and tan suede short ones. I based all my outfits around those two boots and cow girl boots are perfect for Utah.

First Outfit:

Hat - TjMaxx $25

Top - Zara (stretchy comfortable top) $20

Skirt - Zara (denim but has a stretch to it) $35

Belt - H&M $5

Boots - Sam Edelman (100% leather) $100

Second Outfit:

The statement of the outfit is the necklace from Anthropologie so I decided to keep the rest of the outfit simple pairing it with a white tank and denim shorts. I recently bought those shorts from Free People. They fit great, super comfortable, and can be worn casual or dressed up. I love the little detailing at the bottom the criss cross.

Third Outfit:

This outfit I was going for a chic western look, little more dressy. The top is from Zara and the bralette under is from Victoria’s Secret. The belt is from Rebecca Minkoff I have been wearing it non stop ever since I got it for Christmas. The shorts I recently bought from Revolve, the brand is superdown. Cargo style has been trendy and I did not have anything like these in my closet.

... Read morePlanning a trip to Utah, or just curious about the local fashion trends? I absolutely loved putting together my outfits for exploring the incredible red rock formations and vast desert landscapes. Through my experience, I've gathered some extra tips on how to truly nail the Utah style – a perfect blend of practical comfort and desert chic. First off, when thinking about Utah outfits, versatility is key! The weather can change quickly, from warm sunny days to cooler evenings, especially in the desert. Layering is your best friend. I found that a comfortable white tank top or a stylish crop top paired with an open button-down shirt or a light jacket works wonders. This allows you to easily adjust to temperature shifts while still looking put-together. Don't forget durable denim shorts or versatile cargo shorts – they were absolute lifesavers for hiking and exploring, and many brands offer styles with great stretch for different body types. Footwear is another crucial element. While my black tall cowboy boots and tan suede short ones were perfect for adding that western flair, I also made sure to pack some sturdy, comfortable walking shoes. For serious exploring among the red rock formations, a good pair of sneakers or light hiking boots will serve you well. You can always switch into your cowboy boots for a more dressed-up evening look, or for capturing those iconic photos against a sunset sky. Accessorizing can really elevate your Utah look. A wide-brimmed hat is not just chic, but also provides much-needed sun protection. I also loved styling my outfits with unique jewelry, like a statement silver necklace, which added a personal touch to even the simplest white tank and denim shorts combination. Belts are also a great way to cinch a top or add a western touch, especially with those trendy cargo pants or shorts. I noticed that Utah style often leans into natural, earthy tones – think browns, greens, creams, and denim washes – which blend beautifully with the desert landscape. However, don't be afraid to add a pop of color with a sheer long-sleeved top or a statement accessory. The overall vibe is relaxed but intentional, focusing on pieces that are both fashionable and functional for an active, outdoor-oriented lifestyle. If you're wondering where to find these types of clothing, I've had great luck with online retailers that offer a wide range of sizes and styles, as well as checking out local boutiques or second-hand stores for unique western-inspired finds. It's all about finding pieces that make you feel comfortable and confident as you take in the breathtaking scenery.
