So far i’ve spent $150
This is just for one class… and I still haven’t bought everything.
I’ve accumulated supplies over the years but learning a new medium calls for a whole new range of supplies. This year I am learning how to do oil painting although my strong suit is acrylic. In addition to this class I will be needing to purchase even MORE supplies for my senior project.
~pray for my bank account & wish me luck~

As an art student, understanding the costs associated with your passion is crucial. Transitioning from acrylic to oil painting requires a variety of specialized supplies, which can quickly add up. From high-quality brushes and paints to essential tools like palette knives and easels, each item is an investment in your craft. For those new to oil painting, consider starting with a basic set of primary colors and gradually expanding as you develop your style. It's also wise to explore budget-friendly options. Stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby often have sales on art supplies, and using coupons can significantly reduce costs. Additionally, second-hand marketplaces or student exchanges can yield discounts on slightly used materials. Remember to prioritize quality over quantity; investing in fewer, higher-quality supplies can enhance your learning experience. Lastly, don't forget to plan for your senior project! This will require even more supplies, so budgeting accordingly is essential. Keep track of your expenses and explore alternatives that are budget-friendly while still allowing you to create beautiful art.
