The Bramble King conclusion🖤
Okay, fellow porters, let's talk about the absolute dread-inducers of Death Stranding: the Beached Things, or BTs. When I first encountered them, I swear my heart rate quadrupled! That eerie silence, the sudden appearance of the Odradek spinning like crazy, and then those ghostly figures... it's pure survival horror mixed with delivery sim, and I'm here for it, even if it scares the living daylights out of me sometimes. My first few encounters were a disaster. I tried to run, tried to fight blindly, and ended up getting dragged into voidouts more times than I care to admit. But through trial and error (and a lot of lost cargo), I've picked up some tricks that have made my journeys through BT territory a bit less terrifying, and a lot more successful. Here’s what I've learned from my time as a porter: First, stealth is your best friend. Seriously, crouching and holding your breath is crucial. Those black tendrils that reach out? They're looking for sound. If your Odradek starts going wild, stop, crouch, and hold your breath. Move slowly. I've found that moving in short bursts, then holding my breath, works better than just crawling continuously, especially if a BT is close. The feeling of them passing right over you, almost touching, is both terrifying and exhilarating! Second, always carry Hematic Grenades. These blood-filled beauties are a lifesaver. When a BT finally spots you and the tar-creatures grab you, don't panic. Toss a Hematic Grenade or two. They're incredibly effective at dispersing the smaller BTs and buying you precious seconds to escape or take down a larger Catcher BT. I remember one time, I was cornered by a whole pack, and a well-aimed grenade saved my entire delivery. Pure adrenaline! Third, the Bola Gun is surprisingly useful. For smaller, floating BTs, a well-aimed Bola can stun them, giving you a chance to run past or even finish them off with strand if you're feeling brave (and have enough blood packs!). It's not for every situation, especially against Catchers, but it's a great tool for managing the battlefield. Fourth, learn to love your Reverse Trike (or any vehicle). While vehicles can be a pain in BT territory because they attract attention, a fast vehicle can get you out of a sticky situation quickly. Just be prepared to leave it behind if things get too intense, as losing your ride to a voidout is a sad reality. Finally, understanding the BT types helps immensely. Those small, floating ones are annoying but manageable. The larger, lion-like or whale-like 'Catchers' are the real threat. They're tougher, quicker, and their attacks are devastating. Knowing what you're up against helps you decide whether to stealth, engage, or flee. My general rule: if it's a Catcher, I'm usually looking for an escape route unless I'm heavily armed and feeling confident. It’s all about preparation and staying calm. Every time I successfully navigate a BT-infested zone, I feel like I've truly earned my stripes as a porter. The atmosphere in those zones is impeccable, making every encounter a memorable, heart-pounding experience. Keep on keeping on, everyone!
