Which one would you pick?
I’m choosing between two apartments and my brain is doing backflips.
Option 1:
• 40 sqm
• Huge 14 sqm balcony
• Literally across the street from my job
• New building, clean and simple
• Cheaper
• In a nicer, newer area
Option 2:
• 70 sqm (so much more space)
• No balcony
• 20–25 min commute (walk + tram)
• Cute decor, wider rooms, nicer kitchen
• 25–30% more expensive (not impossible but right at my limit)
• More restaurants/cafés nearby
I’m 28, single, a total homebody, and most of my hobbies are computer-based or homey (reading, music, etc.). No pets. Not a big city, so both places are still reasonably connected.
I keep going back and forth:
Do I take the convenience and outdoor space? Or splurge for the bigger, cozier interior even if it means a commute and tighter budget?

I would choose one you are saving not only time but money too. So even tho the first one is smaller I’d take it my reasons for saying that are you do have a balcony but you can also have more time to do things you want to like (workout,sleep in, crafting etc.) since less commute time plus saving money on the apt being cheaper but also saving money on the gas for the commute and on electricity smaller place less to heat/cool.
