He left me for her
So yeah… my ex literally dumped me to go back to his ex. It stings, because he swore he was over her and made me feel like I was the one. Turns out I was just a “pause” until she wanted him back.
I feel dumb, hurt, and honestly angry. Part of me wants to block him forever, but another part of me keeps replaying everything he said and wondering if any of it was real.
Has anyone else been in this situation? How did you get over it?
Being left for an ex is one of the most difficult and confusing experiences to face. It’s natural to feel a mixture of emotions such as anger, sadness, confusion, and even self-doubt. Many people replay conversations and memories, wondering if what their ex said was ever genuine. This emotional turmoil is common but there are ways to heal and find closure. Firstly, recognize that your worth isn’t defined by someone else’s actions or decisions. The fact that he treated you as a "pause" is painful, but it reflects more on his indecision and personal issues than on you. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family who can remind you of your value and help you see beyond the current hurt. Blocking or distancing yourself from your ex can be very helpful. Constant reminders or the temptation to revisit past interactions can hinder your healing. Taking control over what you see and hear allows your heart to settle and refocus. Another useful step is to engage in self-care and activities that bring you joy and confidence. Whether it’s pursuing hobbies, exercising, or learning new skills, investing in yourself helps rebuild your sense of self outside of the relationship. Many have found it helpful to share their story with communities or forums dedicated to breakup support, such as #BreakupTalk or #AskLemon8. Hearing others’ experiences and advice can create a feeling of connection and remind you that you are not alone. Lastly, consider professional support if feelings of anger, sadness, or confusion become overwhelming. Therapists or counselors can provide tools to navigate your emotions and guide you towards healing. Remember, recovery takes time, and it’s okay to take small steps each day. Eventually, you will emerge stronger, wiser, and ready to embrace new possibilities beyond this painful chapter.
