This prayer encourages me to seek that unity and remain faithful despite trials, knowing that Jesus has already overcome the world. Moreover, reflecting on the cross as Jesus’ path to glorification deepens my appreciation of God’s wisdom and love. What looked like defeat was the ultimate victory, demonstrating God’s justice and mercy. It reassures me that suffering has a purpose within God’s redemptive plan. In summary, John 17:1-5 inspires me to live with a heart check: Am I truly pursuing an ever-growing relationship with God, or just knowing about Him?
