My complete 2024 reading journal

2025/1/11 Edited to

... Read moreHey bookworms! Building on the excitement of my previous post about my 2024 reading journal, I wanted to dive deeper into how I actually make it work and share some of my favorite reading journal ideas with you all. Like many of you, I started getting really into reading last year, and while I didn't read a ton in 2024, I'm super excited for my READING GOAL this year and how my journal helps me reach it! If you're wondering where to even begin with your own book journal, don't fret! You really just need a simple journal book or any notebook that sparks joy. Don't feel pressured to buy the fanciest one – some of my best entries are in the simplest notebooks. The key is consistency and making it your own. For those who love a clean, organized look, reading bullet journal ideas are fantastic! Think simple trackers for books read, page counts, or even mood trackers for how each book made you feel. Now, let's talk about making it aesthetic. This is where the fun really begins! I love incorporating creative journal ideas like drawing little doodles inspired by the book covers, adding stickers, or using different colored pens for reviews. One of my absolute favorite hacks is using a mini printer for journaling. Seriously, this small gadget is a game-changer! I print out tiny versions of book covers, quotes, or even pictures related to the book's setting, and stick them right into my journal. It instantly elevates the look and makes flipping through my past reads so much more engaging. It’s also perfect for quickly adding visual elements without spending hours drawing. When it comes to what to include, the possibilities are endless. Beyond just listing titles, I love dedicating space to my initial thoughts before starting a book, my favorite quotes, character analyses, and even dream casts. Tracking my monthly reading progress helps me stay motivated and see patterns in my reading habits. Did I read more fantasy this month? Or was it a thriller-heavy phase? This self-reflection is so valuable. For those of you in a book club, creating a dedicated section in your journal for discussions, questions, and shared insights can be incredibly enriching. It’s a wonderful way to remember all the nuances of your group's conversations. And for the tech-savvy, exploring an online reading journal can offer different benefits, like easy searchability and sharing, but there’s something undeniably special about the tactile experience of a physical journal. Remember, your reading journal is a personal space for growth and enjoyment. Don't worry about perfection; just start! My journey from "never being a reader" to genuinely loving it, largely thanks to my journal, shows that anyone can find their reading escape. I can't wait to share my 2025 progress with you all!
