Did I cross the line by rehoming the cat?
My roommate found a stray cat and brought it into our apartment. At first I didn’t mind, but soon she stopped feeding it, started locking it out of her room, and even left it trapped in my room one day. When I came back, my desk and chair were scratched up.
I’d had enough. I was the one feeding and looking after this cat most of the time anyway. So I took it to a shelter where it could actually get adopted by someone responsible.
The crazy part? My roommate didn’t even notice the cat was gone for a whole day. When I told her what I’d done, she exploded and now refuses to talk to me.
Should I have just put up with it, or was rehoming the cat the right thing to do?
