pics from my new york trip!

Recently I went to New York City and I got to experience some cool stuff. I usually go every year, and while every trip is usually the same length, this trip in particular felt very short. I didn’t get to do as much as usual, but I still had a lot of fun.

I checked out some of the more touristy spots, like Top of The Rock, that I hadn’t been to before. It was super busy, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in going to NYC. In my opinion, it was one of the best views the city has to offer.

Sadly the Vessel is still closed to the public, but I was able to get a super cool shot from the bottom.

I also caught a yankees game at Yankee Stadium, and got some tasty chicken tenders. The souvenir cup was quite pricey, but I believe it’s worth it if you want to have something memorable to bring home (plus a snack at the game).

Where should I go next?

New York
2024/8/6 Edited to

... Read moreAfter my recent New York City trip, which felt like a 'New York minute' as it was over so fast, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to make the most of every second in this incredible city. It's easy to get caught up chasing those picture-perfect social media moments, but finding truly authentic experiences is what really makes a trip special. For those looking to experience NYC without breaking the bank or getting lost in massive crowds, I've got a couple of ideas for my next visit that I think you'll appreciate. One of the best free and truly authentic ways to soak in the city's vibe is by taking the Staten Island Ferry. It offers unparalleled, iconic skyline views of Manhattan, including the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, all without a ticket! Forget expensive boat tours; this is how real New Yorkers commute, and it's a fantastic way to see the city from a different perspective, enjoying the vastness of the harbor and the impressive structures like the Empire State Building. Speaking of making the most of a short trip, planning is key. When you're only there for a 'New York minute,' you need to prioritize. My advice is to pick one or two major attractions you absolutely can't miss, like Top of The Rock for those panoramic views, and then dedicate the rest of your time to simply wandering. Explore the bustling New York City streets on foot. You’ll stumble upon local cafes, unique boutiques, and vibrant street art that you'd never find rushing from one tourist spot to another. Public transportation, especially the subway, is your best friend for quickly getting between neighborhoods, letting you maximize your exploration time. Another tip for finding those authentic NYC experiences is to embrace diverse cuisines. Instead of only dining at famous, often pricey, restaurants, seek out local eateries, food trucks, or ethnic neighborhoods. The city is a melting pot of cultures, and you can find incredible, affordable food that tells a story and offers a genuine taste of New York. From delicious street food to a cozy bagel shop, these are the places where you truly connect with the city's pulse. Even though my last trip was short, it reinforced my love for NYC. It's a city that continuously offers new layers to explore, whether it’s revisiting famous landmarks or discovering new, personal favorites. I'm already dreaming of my next adventure and hoping these tips help you create your own unforgettable 'New York minute' filled with authentic experiences!
