How do I deal with guilt

I feel mixed up inside like I’ll never be able to fully be myself I’ll always have to settle and deal with my own feelings on emptiness and feeling bad about my natural feelings I can’t change I feel like I’ve been really trying but I’ve just been shoving my feelings down and building resentment for my relationship even though it’s great and I love my partner it’s like that I have to make a choice for the rest of my life? I’m not sure how to bring this up to my partner he’s knows I’m poly but it’s kinda soemthing we just don’t talk about and I really want to but I don’t know how like the whole you c an get with girls but not men bc it’s attractive to me but if your with another man I see it as taking away from us when that’s not how I feel about it no one else can take away from me and what we have I don’t think of having another relationship as replacing my relationship I don’t think it takes away from the love I have to give again this is not for someone else to understand this post like all my posts are for me to go back and read and if it just so happens to relate to you or make you feel some stuff than good but if not it’s not meant to

... Read moreLiving in a polyamorous relationship often brings a unique set of challenges, particularly regarding feelings of guilt and the pressure of expectations. Individuals who identify as poly may experience guilt when their partners hold different relationship preferences, such as monogamy. Managing these feelings requires open communication and understanding. It’s crucial to foster an environment where both partners can express their feelings and concerns without fear of judgment. Utilizing techniques like active listening can greatly enhance these discussions. Additionally, establishing clear boundaries and discussing what each partner is comfortable with can help alleviate feelings of resentment and guilt. It’s important to remember that one's love is not diminished by the presence of additional relationships; rather, it can expand. Encouraging each other to explore what is meaningful in your connection allows both partners to feel valued and understood. Lastly, seeking support from others in the polyamorous community or professional guidance can provide helpful perspectives. Resources such as books on polyamory and support groups can be instrumental in navigating these complex emotions. Everyone's journey in polyamory is unique, and finding a personalized approach to combat guilt is key to maintaining a healthy and flourishing relationship.
