Valentine’s Day Brunch @ Port Orleans
The Classic Mickey beignets are a solid 9/10 for me. (No beignet gets a 10 outside of NOLA. ⚜️💚💜)
As for the Berry in Love beignets….3.5/10. The artificial raspberry flavor added WAY too much sweetness on top of the marshmallow sauce and sprinkles. Would not recommend but they were super cute to look at! 😅 Save your $9.49.
Have you tried these?? // Do have a favorite pastry at Disney??
Celebrating Valentine's Day with a special brunch at Port Orleans is a unique way to enjoy Disney's culinary offerings, especially if you're a fan of sweet treats like beignets. From personal experience, the Classic Mickey beignets are truly a highlight—soft, fluffy, and perfectly fried, they capture the essence of New Orleans-style beignets even outside of Louisiana. The subtle powdery sugar coating complements the dough beautifully without overwhelming the palate. However, trying themed pastries like the Berry in Love beignets can be a bit hit or miss. While their vibrant decoration makes them eye-catching, the artificial raspberry flavor often masks the delicate balance of sweetness that beignets traditionally offer. The addition of marshmallow sauce and sprinkles tends to make them overly sweet, detracting from the original pastry experience. For those seeking a snack that balances flavor with presentation, you might want to pass on these and save your money for the classics. When visiting Port Orleans during special occasions, consider pairing your beignets with a rich coffee or a refreshing fruit drink to round out the brunch. Also, exploring other pastries in the area, such as cinnamon rolls or seasonal fruit tarts, can diversify your palate and enhance the holiday celebration. Overall, Valentine's Day brunch at Port Orleans offers not just delicious food but also a charming atmosphere that makes the treat even more memorable. Have you found a favorite Disney pastry that stands out to you? Sharing your experiences can make future visits even more enjoyable!
