My dislikes and likes of the Wicked For Good movie
I want to preface that I absolutely love the Wicked movies and the actors/actresses did such a great job in the movie but these are some things that brought me out of the world of Oz and into reality!
DISLIKES:First off,how slowly it took to really get into the movie. I was losing focus very quickly in the beginning but when it stared getting into the middle then I got really into it! Secondly,Jonathan Bailey’s scarecrow costume…they had the best make up and costume directors in Hollywood and they gave us one that looked like Ryan Reynolds…? I was mid sob and then the revel made me laugh so it was something to lighten the mood I guess. Lastly Jonathan Bailey and Cynthia Erivo’s scene..I know the musical is like that and a bit spicer but it still made me slightly uncomfortable to see in the theaters. And for it to be in a PG rated movie was a bit awkward.
LIKES: I absolutely loved the emotions that the actors betrayed. It felt like I was truly in the movie with them and feeling it as well. The revel of the Tin Man was so so good and entertaining as well as Elphaba’s father’s reveal. The music was okay,but No Good Deed was absolutely gorgeous. I literally need it ejected into my veins. Lastly how the story all came together in the end and how it was a full circle moment was just amazing.
Overall,Yes! I would bring your child to it. Just be aware it might be a little boring for them in some parts and mature theming for anyone who is probably 12 or younger. They will enjoy it just be prepared for maybe some questions 😂
