Here’s what’s on my February TBR
I’m currently 55% of the way thru Zodiac Academy: The Awakening. So far I am LOVING it. So I know book 2 will be read in this month as well. But I have a few others I want to try to get thru as well. Tell me what you guys thought about The Striker, and The Lost Apothecary!
Also, I made a booktok if anyone wants to be friends over there. 😁
Building a 'To Be Read' (TBR) list is one of my favorite parts of being a book lover! There's just something incredibly exciting about having a stack of potential adventures waiting for you. This month, I'm already deep into the magical world of 'Zodiac Academy: The Awakening,' and I can honestly say it's been an enchanting ride. The intricate world-building and compelling characters make it hard to put down. I'm already looking forward to diving into the next book in the series. Beyond that, my February TBR has a couple of other gems I'm eager to explore. 'The Striker' by Ana Huang has been on my radar for a while. I'm a big fan of contemporary romance, and the concept of a sports-themed love story, perhaps with some exciting scoreboard-worthy moments, sounds like a perfect escape. Then there's 'The Lost Apothecary,' a book whose cover alone, with its mysterious apothecary bottle and dark floral designs, has me completely captivated. I'm always drawn to historical fiction with a touch of mystery, and I have a feeling this one will transport me to another time and place. For me, creating a TBR isn't just about picking random books; it's a thoughtful process. I often get recommendations from friends, my favorite booktok creators, or sometimes I just stumble upon a captivating cover while browsing online or even in a beautiful bookstore (you know, the kind with arched ceilings and endless bookshelves!). I try to balance different genres to keep things fresh. One month might be all fantasy, like diving deep into a world with a prominent zodiac wheel, and the next might be contemporary romance or a gripping thriller. A big challenge for many readers, including myself, is actually getting through that ever-growing TBR list! I've found a few strategies that help. Sometimes, it’s about mood reading – picking up whatever calls to me in that moment, rather than sticking to a rigid plan. Other times, I set small goals, like finishing one book from my TBR each week. Joining reading challenges can also be a great motivator, pushing you to explore genres you might not usually pick up. Another thing I love about reading is the community aspect. Sharing what I'm reading and hearing what others think about books like 'The Striker' or 'The Lost Apothecary' adds so much to the experience. It's like we're all on this grand literary journey together, discovering new worlds and characters. I've even started my own booktok channel to connect with more readers, because there’s nothing better than gushing about a new favorite read or debating a plot twist with someone who gets it. So, if you're ever looking for your next read, or just want to chat about books, don't hesitate to reach out! Let's make this a month of amazing reads together.
