THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME 🔊😭🤍 #figureskating #iceskating #learning #crossovers #figureskater
Learning to figure skate, especially mastering the crossovers, has been an incredible experience. On day 17, finally getting my crossovers down felt like a huge milestone that boosted my confidence on the ice. Crossovers are fundamental in figure skating as they help build momentum and control while making smooth turns. From my practice, I learned that focusing on weight transfer, edge control, and keeping a steady rhythm are keys to perfecting crossovers. One thing that really helped was watching tutorials and breaking the technique into small steps: first practicing off-ice moves to get comfortable with the motion, then slowly on-ice drills emphasizing balance and knee bend. Consistent repetition helped train muscle memory, and over time the movement started feeling natural rather than forced. If you’re new to figure skating or working on crossovers, my advice is to be patient and celebrate small improvements. Wearing proper skates with good ankle support also makes a big difference. Plus, warming up well to avoid injuries. Overall, the journey taught me that learning figure skating takes persistence and positive mindset. Crossing over smoothly opened up new possibilities for more advanced moves, making the sport even more enjoyable. Keep pushing yourself, and the progress will come!
