Baking your eyeshadow 🩶🩵👌🏻
Hey everyone! I wanted to share my absolute game-changer in makeup – the baking technique! Seriously, if you want your makeup to last all day, look flawless, and stay crease-free, then don't skip this step! I used to struggle with my concealer creasing and eyeshadow fading, but ever since I started baking, my makeup looks professionally done and stays put. It's truly transformed my whole routine. So, what exactly is makeup baking? It's basically letting a generous amount of translucent setting powder 'sit' on your skin for a few minutes after applying liquid or cream products. This allows the heat from your face to set the makeup underneath, creating a super smooth, matte, and long-lasting finish. When I first heard about baking your eyeshadow, I was skeptical, but now it's one of my favorite tricks for vibrant, crease-proof color! Here’s my personal step-by-step guide on how I bake, especially for a flawless under eyes technique and even my nose: Prep & Conceal: First, I apply my liquid foundation and then my concealer under my eyes, on any blemishes, and around my nose if needed. I make sure to blend everything out perfectly with a damp beauty sponge. This is crucial for a smooth base. Apply Powder Generously: While the concealer is still fresh, I take a fluffy, dampened sponge (or a dedicated baking sponge) and dip it into a finely milled translucent setting powder. I then press a thick layer of powder directly onto my under-eye area, making sure it’s completely covered. I also apply a small amount to the sides of my nose and sometimes a light dusting over my eyelids if I'm not using a separate eyeshadow primer. Let It 'Bake': This is where the magic happens! I let the powder sit for about 5-10 minutes. During this time, I usually do my eyebrows, put on mascara, or even just check my phone. This allows the powder to really melt into the skin and absorb any excess oil. For my eyeshadow, I sometimes do a quick 'bake' with a lighter layer of powder over my primer to ensure my shadows pop and don't budge. Brush Away the Excess: After the baking time, I take a large, fluffy brush and gently sweep away all the excess powder. You'll instantly see a blurring, smoothing effect! This is where the before after transformation becomes super evident – my skin looks airbrushed and incredibly smooth. The makeup baking technique before after difference is astonishing. My under-eye area looks brighter, my concealer doesn't crease, and my foundation stays flawless for hours. For oily areas like my nose or T-zone, baking significantly reduces shine and minimizes the appearance of pores. It's a lifesaver, especially on long days or when I want my makeup to look absolutely perfect. A few extra tips: Always use a finely milled translucent powder; colored powders can look cakey. Don't bake for too long if you have very dry skin, or try a lighter hand. Make sure your concealer is fully blended before applying powder to avoid setting creases. Experiment with how much powder and how long to bake to find what works best for your skin type. Give this a try, and I promise you'll notice a huge difference in your makeup longevity and finish. It's become an essential part of my routine, and I bet it will for yours too!
