The holiday season is my absolute favorite time to get creative with makeup. There’s just something about all the festive events and gatherings that makes me want to add a little extra sparkle and shine to my look! I’ve always admired those stunning holiday glam looks, especially ones that incorporate a touch of bling. This year, I decided to take my go-to holiday makeup a step further by embracing the rhinestone trend, and let me tell you, it completely transformed my look! I started with my usual dramatic pink and red eyeshadow blend, making sure to create a beautiful gradient that really opened up my eyes. Then, I perfected my winged eyeliner, which is a must for any glam look. It’s amazing how these classic elements already create such a strong base. But for that extra 'wow' factor, I figured, why not add some rhinestones? They’re perfect for elevating any festive occasion, whether it’s a Christmas party or a New Year’s Eve celebration. I found that they pair beautifully with a bold eye, making the colors pop even more. Adding rhinestones might seem intimidating at first, but trust me, it’s easier than you think! Here’s what I did to achieve my sparkling rhinestone eye makeup look: First, gather your supplies: you’ll need some small, flat-backed rhinestones (I prefer clear or iridescent ones for maximum sparkle, but colored ones can be fun too!), a good quality lash glue or a specific makeup adhesive for rhinestones, and a pair of tweezers or a rhinestone picker tool. I found that a wax-tipped picker made the process super smooth. After I finished my eyeshadow and winged eyeliner, making sure everything was set, I planned out where I wanted my rhinestones to go. For a subtle touch, I focused on the inner corner of my eye and just below the tail of my winged liner. For a more dramatic effect, you could place them along your lash line or even create a small cluster on your eyelid. Next, I applied a tiny dot of lash glue to the back of each rhinestone using a toothpick or the fine tip of an eyeliner brush. You really only need a tiny amount! Then, using my tweezers or picker tool, I carefully placed each rhinestone onto my skin. It’s important to work quickly but precisely, as the glue dries fast. I held each rhinestone in place for a few seconds to ensure it was secure. Once all my rhinestones were in place and the glue was dry, I finished off my look with a few coats of mascara and, of course, my signature ombre dark red lips.
