POV: It’s 2016 Again ✨
This year marks my 10 year anniversary of being on social media and betting it all on myself to be a inspiration to always be you and to love yourself on social media! My name is make up Jacky for a reason and that’s because my first passion was makeup and skin care as I started off as a freelance Makeup Artist and dove into the love of making videos and taking pictures of my creativity and really made it an outlet to help fight my anxiety and depression and just have fun. I never thought in a million years that I would still be here 10 years later. Multiple brand collabs, my own brand, brand reposts, Meet & Greets, multiple certifications later , almost 1,000,000 followers on TikTok later, and billions of views later i still absolutely LOVE making videos and even though I had a rough year last year and having a baby, i know i didn’t get to express and be who i waned to be and do what i wanted to. BUT I’m determined to make my 10th year an amazing filled year full of make up skin care, and all things that I truly love in my hearts of hearts not just what people have made me feel like i have to be. I really love makeup and having fun with it so I’m going to definitely start having fun with it again starting today. Thank you to everyone who has been here since the very beginning or if you’re very new I love you guys so much and I cannot wait to continue my journey with you guys.! I’m sure I have so much more to say but that’s all I can think about right now while my baby is taking a nap 😂
Reaching a 10-year milestone on social media is not just about the numbers but about the personal growth and passion that fuels your content. From my experience, the journey of being a makeup artist online is as much about self-expression as it is about connection with a community. Like Jacky, many creators find their platform helps them cope with personal challenges such as anxiety and depression by offering an outlet to channel creativity and positivity. In these years, I have discovered that engagement with followers goes beyond posting content—it’s about authenticity. Sharing struggles and successes openly builds trust and creates a supportive environment. The evolution of platforms like TikTok has also transformed how we can reach audiences, making video content a powerful way to demonstrate makeup techniques and skincare routines. For those thinking about starting or renewing their passion in makeup and skincare content, I would recommend focusing on what truly excites you rather than trends. Consistency is crucial but so is allowing yourself room to experiment and enjoy the process. Collaborations with brands can come naturally as your genuine passion shines through. Celebrating your unique journey, as Jacky does, reminds us all that social media can be a place for growth, healing, and inspiration. Whether you're a new follower or have been there since the beginning, keeping fun and authenticity at the heart of your content makes the experience rewarding both for creators and their audience.
