Although we didn’t get the chance to stay at Hotel De La Coupole Sapa during this trip due to our tight itinerary, we still managed to enjoy a memorable glimpse of its charm—through drinks at the stunning Absinthe Rooftop Bar and a delightful lunch at Chic Restaurant Sapa.
Located in the heart of Sapa, the hotel is directly connected to Sun Plaza Station—the gateway to the funicular train leading up to Fansipan. Its design is nothing short of breathtaking, blending high-fashion French Indochine glamour with vibrant hill tribe textiles. The result is a visually stunning masterpiece that perfectly marries local culture with timeless French luxury. Every corner feels like a curated photo opportunity.
After a long day exploring Sapa town, stopping by the hotel turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. Both the bar and restaurant are located on the 10th floor, accessible only with staff assistance, which gives the space a sense of exclusivity and privacy. Even the restrooms are impeccably clean and beautifully designed.
At Absinthe, the drinks were exceptional—refined, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They also offer high tea, making it a perfect spot to unwind in style.
Lunch at Chic was equally impressive. The menu features classic French cuisine crafted with high-quality local ingredients, staying true to the hotel’s theme. From appetizers to desserts, every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely satisfying. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between grand and intimate.
After our meal, we took a short stroll around the hotel. Just outside Chic and Absinthe lies a beautiful outdoor terrace. On clearer days, guests are rewarded with panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. Down at the ground floor, a charming garden with a fountain offers a peaceful retreat.
The entire hotel is adorned with Western antiques and bespoke décor inspired by local ethnic tribes, especially in the lobby area. It’s no surprise that this architectural gem was awarded a Michelin Key in 2025—a well-deserved recognition for such an extraordinary experience.
