Travel Danang Like A Local Day 1 🇻🇳 | Marble Mountains, Con Market & more
After an exciting full day at VinWonders Nam Hội An, we arrived in Da Nang just in time for dinner. To end the day, we treated ourselves to authentic Central Vietnamese specialties at Bé Loan Restaurant. Their Bánh Bèo (Water Fern Cakes), Bánh Nậm (Steamed Rice Dumplings), and other traditional delicacies were simply outstanding. Every dish was packed with flavor, and they were so delicious that we ended up ordering multiple servings of our favorites.
Once my mom and the kids had gone to bed, we decided to reward ourselves with a relaxing foot massage at Fan Spa Massage, conveniently located next to our hotel. The prices were very reasonable, and the massage was excellent—the perfect way to recharge after a long day of walking and exploring.
The following morning, we headed to Chợ Cồn (Con Market), one of Da Nang’s most iconic marketplaces and a bustling trading hub that has served the city since the 1940s. Breakfast was a bowl of cháo chả bò, a comforting lean beef paste porridge that was incredibly flavorful, unbelievably affordable, and deeply satisfying. Of course, no visit to the market was complete without dessert, so we couldn’t resist trying the avocado durian ice cream—a surprisingly delightful combination that was both creamy and refreshing.
After exploring the lively market, we slowed the pace with a visit to Piano Piano – Cafe and Things. This charming café immediately won us over with its cozy atmosphere, beautiful piano, excellent coffee, and one of the most memorable unit numbers you’ll ever come across. It was the perfect place to cool down, unwind, and enjoy a peaceful break before continuing our adventure.
From there, we hopped on a Grab to the famous Marble Mountains, one of Da Nang’s most iconic attractions. We spent hours wandering through its fascinating caves, climbing stone stairways, and soaking in breathtaking panoramic views of both the mountains and the coastline. As evening approached, we made our way to the nearby beach, where we enjoyed the soft sand, crystal-clear waters, and gentle waves. It was the perfect way to end an adventurous afternoon.
After an entire day filled with sightseeing, exploration, and fun by the sea, our appetites were more than ready for dinner. We headed to Độc Mộc Buffet, one of Da Nang’s most popular buffet restaurants and a favorite among both locals and visitors. The buffet featured an impressive spread of live seafood, freshly prepared dishes, authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Western favorites, and an irresistible dessert selection. Considering the incredible variety and quality of the food, the price offered exceptional value, making it a truly satisfying finale to another unforgettable day in Da Nang.
