Travel Danang Like A Local Day 2 🇻🇳 | Ba Na Hills, Danang, Vietnam
We spent most of our second day in Da Nang exploring the breathtaking Ba Na Hills, home to the world’s longest non-stop single-track cable car. The journey to the summit was an experience in itself. As we glided above lush mountains, cascading waterfalls, and the sprawling city below, we were treated to spectacular panoramic views accompanied by a cool, refreshing breeze flowing through the thoughtfully designed cable car. It was peaceful, scenic, and incredibly relaxing.
Stepping into Ba Na Hills felt like being transported to Europe—particularly France. The entire destination is beautifully crafted with medieval European-inspired castles, charming cafés, restaurants, boutique shops, elegant fountains, carnival rides, and picturesque stone-paved streets that connect the attractions seamlessly. Every corner feels like a postcard waiting to be captured.
One of the highlights was visiting the Sun Kraft Beer Factory, where beer is brewed using authentic German brewing techniques and technology. The freshly brewed beers were surprisingly excellent, and the food served there was equally impressive, making it a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy lunch.
Afterwards, we hopped onto another cable car to visit the iconic Golden Bridge, famous for the two gigantic stone hands that appear to cradle the bridge above the clouds. Although it can get quite crowded, its beauty is undeniable. One delightful surprise was spotting a smaller stone hand holding a coffee cup beside the bridge—a charming little detail that instantly became one of our favourite discoveries. Before leaving, we couldn’t resist riding the Alpine Coaster with the kids, and the exhilarating twists and turns made it one of the most exciting moments of the day.
The cable car ride back down was just as magical. Soft lo-fi music played gently in the background as we soaked in the final views of the mountains, creating a wonderfully calming end to an unforgettable adventure.
On our way back to the hotel, we stopped by a roadside vendor for fresh coconuts and refreshing sugarcane juice—simple pleasures that perfectly complemented the day’s excitement. Meanwhile, Kelia travelled all the way across the city to collect the very special birthday cake she had ordered for Zac.
That evening became one of the most memorable moments of our entire trip. We celebrated Zac’s birthday in the comfort of our hotel room with Vietnamese instant noodles, fresh juices, snacks, and his birthday cake. As if the day couldn’t get any more magical, the night sky suddenly lit up with one of the most spectacular fireworks displays we had ever witnessed, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable day in Da Nang.
