Travel Danang Like A Local Day 3 🇻🇳 | Mỳ Quảng, Esco Beach, Dragon Bridge Performance & Street Food
Our final day in Da Nang was all about making every moment count. Since the famous Dragon Bridge Fire and Water Show only takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 9:00 PM, we made sure Day 3 ended on a memorable note.
We started the morning bright and early with breakfast at Mỳ Quảng Lân Phượng, a hidden family-run gem tucked away along Nguyễn Văn Linh. If you’re visiting Da Nang, trying an authentic bowl of Mỳ Quảng is almost a must. Originating from nearby Quảng Nam Province, this iconic Central Vietnamese noodle dish is deeply rooted in local culture and is commonly enjoyed during family gatherings, celebrations, ancestral ceremonies, and Tết. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the broth was incredibly rich yet balanced, and every ingredient tasted fresh and homemade. It was so delicious that we couldn’t resist ordering multiple bowls before finally calling it a meal.
After breakfast, we made a quick stop at the Da Nang City Administrative Center, one of the city’s most recognizable modern landmarks. Its sleek architecture stands out beautifully against the skyline and makes for a nice photo opportunity.
Next, we headed over to Vincom Plaza Da Nang, one of the city’s most popular shopping malls, where we enjoyed a relaxing coffee break. It was the perfect place to escape the afternoon heat, recharge, and do a little window shopping before continuing our adventure.
Later in the afternoon, we spent several wonderful hours at Esco Beach, Bar, Lounge & Restaurant, an ultra-modern beachfront destination overlooking the beautiful My Khe Beach. This stylish two-level venue features multiple terraces with panoramic sea views, creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind.
The food and drinks were excellent, especially the pizzas, which paired perfectly with the refreshing beverages. The venue also features live DJ performances that create a lively beach club atmosphere without being overwhelming. One feature we particularly appreciated was the availability of shower facilities, something many beachgoers will find incredibly convenient after spending time in the sea. There is even a small swimming pool for guests to enjoy.
While my girlfriend and I played by the beach, my mom found a quiet corner at Esco Beach to relax with a good book, making it an ideal spot for everyone regardless of how they preferred to spend their afternoon. One of the most memorable moments was discovering plenty of small clams along the shoreline. We collected them and later cooked them together with instant noodles, turning a simple meal into one of the most unexpectedly fun experiences of the trip.
As evening approached, we headed to Cô Nhâm – Miến Măng Gà, a well-loved local eatery famous for its vermicelli with bamboo shoots and chicken. The comforting bowl featured tender chicken, crunchy bamboo shoots, silky egg yolk, chicken liver, and other traditional innards that added incredible depth of flavour to the broth. Every spoonful was rich, comforting, and satisfying—we happily finished every last drop.
To wrap up our Da Nang adventure, we treated ourselves to some refreshing salted yogurt from a roadside vendor before making our way to Dragon Bridge. As the clock struck 9:00 PM, the bridge came alive with spectacular bursts of fire followed by powerful streams of water, creating one of the city’s most iconic attractions. Watching the dazzling performance under the night sky was the perfect ending to an unforgettable three-day journey in Da Nang, leaving us with wonderful memories and yet another reason to return to this beautiful coastal city someday.
