An affordable hygiene routine! 🦷
getting a good hygiene routine down when it comes to your oral health is extremely important. being a college student, affording top care for my teeth can be tough, but these are the things that have helped elevate my smile!
first step: oil pulling. this is one that i have recently started in the past couple weeks and i have definitely noticed improvements! the directions instruct to pour a small cap full and swish it for around 2 minutes, working your way up to 10 minutes. i will say the texture of it is so strange and getting through it the first couple days is tough, but after it’s like nothing!
next step: rinse and tongue scrape. after i oil pull i like to just use my toothbrush wet with some water to rinse the oil from my teeth. then i like to use my tongue scraper first just to get the pre gross off i guess??
next: brush! i recently switched from crest toothpaste to this hello charcoal toothpaste. did you know that your toothpaste can cause pimples around your mouth/chin? after switching i rarely ever get zits in that area! make sure you’re brushing every square inch!!!!
next: after brushing and scrubbing my tongue, i like to gently tongue scrape again to get anything else off before i floss. again, i am a broke college student therefore i am not buying a water flosser. i use these little disposable picks and they get the job done! i use a couple each time a floss just so i am not spreading any food or bacteria.
optional for you every night for me: my dentist prescribed me this toothpaste a few months back to help fight some cavities i had. it help strengthen your teeth and fight cavities that are beginning to form. this is my last step because you cannot eat or drink for 2 hours once you brush.
optional: whitening pen. i use this about every other day to every two days. i love this whitening pen because it is literally so simple. the pen makes for an easy application and once you apply you let it dry for 60 seconds and tada! like the toothpaste before, you can’t eat or drink for an hour after.
optional/not pictured: mouthwash. i just ran out of my mouthwash but i have noticed with the oil pulling it is not really needed as much!!
