Book review (no spoilers)

( By your side by Kasie West) When I first picked up this book I expected it to be a cute little love story (which it is), but it felt like so much more. I loved all the emotions that were presented in this. The book was super easy to finish (finished within a day). It was a really good pace of a book and the way the main love interests bonded I found so cute which definitely made me love the book even more. 4 1/2 stars out of 5, would def recommend for people who like cuter, soft romance.

... Read moreWhen I first saw the cover for 'By Your Side' by Kasie West, I was immediately drawn in. It perfectly captures the sweet, comforting vibe of the story! You know, the one with the couple gently embracing? It's got that lovely teal script for the title with white dotted letters, and I just loved how the stacks of books in the background hint at a cozy, bookish setting – exactly what you want from a heartwarming YA romance. It really sets the mood for the whole experience before you even turn the first page. Speaking of Kasie West, if you loved 'By Your Side' as much as I did, you absolutely have to dive into her other works! She has such a signature style that makes her books incredibly easy to fall into. Her stories are always so character-driven, focusing on genuine connections and lighthearted drama without getting too heavy. I find her a go-to author when I need a feel-good read that leaves me with a smile. For anyone who enjoyed the emotional depth and cute romance in 'By Your Side', I’d highly recommend checking out 'P.S. I Like You'. It’s another fantastic enemies-to-lovers story with anonymous letter writing that’s just adorable. Or, if you're looking for something with a bit of a mystery alongside the romance, 'Split Second' is a great option. It’s part of her Pivot Point series, but you can definitely enjoy it as a standalone too. Her books consistently deliver that perfect blend of witty banter, relatable teen struggles, and heartwarming happily-ever-afters. My personal favorite aspect of Kasie West's writing is how she builds such believable relationships; you truly root for the main characters from page one. This specific book, 'By Your Side', is ideal for readers who appreciate a low-angst, high-charm story. It's perfect for a weekend read, especially if you're in the mood for something that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside without any major plot twists that keep you up all night. The way the main characters connect, despite their unique circumstances, is truly captivating. It’s a testament to West’s skill that she can explore themes of anxiety and connection with such a gentle, hopeful touch. I've often found myself revisiting scenes from this book because they just have such a comforting quality. If you're new to Kasie West, 'By Your Side' is an excellent starting point, but trust me, once you read one, you'll want to read them all! Her books are like a warm hug on a cold day, and I can't recommend them enough for anyone seeking a dose of sweet, wholesome romance.
