Maybe I’ve just dissociated for the past 4 months.
I’ve been in such an unmotivated funk for longer than I can identify. It’s just a reminder that you become what and who you allow to surround you.
Anyway, enjoy my very neglected and behind schedule “crockpot” Nauti puppies that might take damn near a year to do anything cool with 😂

Training Malinois puppies can be an incredibly rewarding yet challenging experience. These working dogs are known for their intelligence, energy, and strong drive, which require consistent and focused training. Over time, I've realized that motivation plays a huge role not only in training the dogs but also in staying committed myself. Sometimes, life’s distractions and personal struggles can impact how much energy we invest in our pets. One thing that helps me is acknowledging the phases of low motivation and treating them with patience rather than frustration. The ‘crockpot’ approach to training—letting progress simmer slowly—resonates especially well with Malinois, who often need mental and physical stimulation tailored to their pace. This long-term dedication can feel like it takes forever to see results, but the bond and skills developed through consistent work are invaluable. Incorporating diverse activities, such as bite sports, can keep the training fresh and exciting for both the dogs and myself. Using positive reinforcement and understanding each puppy’s unique personality allows me to better tailor exercises and socialization. Moreover, surrounding yourself with a supportive community who shares tips, challenges, and encouragement can make a significant difference in staying motivated. In summary, training Malinois puppies like Krook, Chisme, and Curbstomp “Kirby” is as much a journey of self-growth as it is about teaching the dogs. Embracing ups and downs, fostering patience, and celebrating small victories make the experience fulfilling and enriching for both pet and trainer.
