Protect your nut per capita
Every moment you spend should be calculated
From my experience as an entrepreneur navigating the startup world, I've realized how crucial it is to protect what you might call your 'nut per capita'—essentially, the value of your time, energy, and resources per interaction. In this journey, every moment should indeed be calculated carefully rather than spent aimlessly. When building a startup, not every connection leads to a breakthrough. For example, engaging with people who are unlikely to bring funding or relevant opportunities—what some call 'potential VCs'—can be a waste of your valuable 'nut'. I've learned to assess relationships critically: is this person a gateway to funding, strategic partnerships, or valuable advice? If not, it’s best to refocus efforts elsewhere. This mindset shift helped me prioritize quality over quantity. It’s about efficient networking and targeted growth. Each meeting or conversation is an investment; treat it as such. Don't just spend your time 'nutting' carelessly but make every effort meaningful and strategic. Looking ahead to 2026, the goal is to 'get to the bag'—achieve tangible success and secure funding robustly. Protecting your nut per capita means deploying your resources where they yield the highest returns. This approach reduces burnout and increases focus, helping you build a lean, effective startup. Ultimately, this strategy is about discipline and thoughtful decision-making, which are essential for long-term startup success. By protecting your efforts thoughtfully, you set yourself up to reach your goals more efficiently and sustainably.
