... Read moreMy sweet Maggie is more than just a cute face; she's a bundle of personality wrapped in soft, brown fur! When people ask about her, I always start with her defining traits. She definitely lives up to her hobbies of 'barking and eating,' but there's so much more to her than that. It's truly fascinating how much character a small dog can have! Let's talk about her barking. It's not just random noise; it's a form of communication! Maggie has a specific bark for the mail carrier, a different one for squirrels trying to invade her territory in the yard, and a very insistent 'I need attention NOW' bark. Sometimes, she'll just bark at absolutely nothing, as if she's having a conversation with an invisible friend! It's one of her most endearing, if sometimes noisy, quirks. It really shows her protective and alert nature, always keeping an eye (and ear) out for her family. Then there's the eating! Her absolute favorite food, hands down, is chicken. You could say it’s her ultimate motivator! The moment she hears the word 'chicken,' her little ears perk up, and her tail starts wagging furiously. She's not a picky eater by any means, but chicken brings out a special sparkle in her eyes. It's adorable to watch her carefully savor every bite, almost like she knows it's a special treat. This food-motivated trait makes training her a dream, too. Speaking of training, Maggie is quite the smart cookie. She knows 'sit,' 'lay down,' and 'stay' perfectly. We've been working on 'shake a paw' and she's almost got it! It's amazing to see her little brain work when she's trying to figure out a new command, and the pride she shows when she gets it right is just heartwarming. Her intelligence really shines through in how quickly she picks things up, and her desire to please us makes her a joy to teach. Beyond these, Maggie has a deeply affectionate side. She's a true snuggle bug, always wanting to be close. Whether I'm on the couch or just sitting on the floor, she'll nudge her way in, often settling into my lap despite being a bit too big for it! She loves to relax on our patterned dining chairs, making herself right at home, which always brings a smile to my face. She's also incredibly playful. Her favorite game is fetch with her squeaky ball, and she'll bring it right back to you, ready for another round, her fluffy tail wagging like crazy. Maggie’s curiosity is another lovely trait; she loves exploring new smells on walks and investigating every nook and cranny of the house. She's truly a constant source of joy and laughter in our home, bringing so much warmth and companionship to our lives every single day.
