How I got my hair to be bright blonde! ✨
A little backstory, I’ve been getting blonde highlights pretty consistently since elementary school. My aunt has her own hair salon so I’ve always gone to her and pretty much plopped down in the chair and let her work her magic!
Every now and then I’ll go back towards my natural color which is a pretty dark ashy brown. However, for a year and a half now I’ve been going every 6-7 weeks and getting heavy blonde highlights plus a toner and olaplex treatment to get my hair this bright and still be healthy!
in order to be a fake blonde, it takes patience and consistency! You’ll never be able to go from dark to light over night unless you want your hair to fall out :(
I dont know the exact product she uses to lighten my hair but I do know her salon has all Paul Mitchell products!
maybe ill share my hair journey sometime! ive never had crazy colors or cuts but I can share my process :)

My journey to achieving this bright, healthy blonde wasn't a sprint, it was definitely a marathon – about 1.5 years of consistent effort, to be exact! Many of you might be wondering about the specifics, especially when it comes to getting those heavy blonde highlights and maintaining that vibrant, cool tone without damage. Let me share a bit more about what I've learned along the way. One of the biggest game-changers for my blonde transformation has been the consistent use of toner alongside my heavy highlights. If you're aiming for that bright, almost 'ghost platinum' cool blonde, toner is non-negotiable. It doesn't lighten your hair further; instead, it neutralizes unwanted yellow or brassy tones that naturally surface during the lightening process. Think of it as a color corrector for your hair! My aunt always custom-mixes a toner for me, tailored to achieve that perfect cool blonde shade. I've seen firsthand the incredible difference a good toner makes – dull, brassy blonde before, to a brilliant, cool blonde after. It's truly a transformation essential for highlights. Speaking of heavy highlights, this technique means getting more sections of your hair lightened, creating a much brighter, more uniform blonde look compared to traditional, sparser highlights. This is what helped me transition from my naturally dark ashy brown to a full, bright blonde over time. The key here, as my stylist (my amazing aunt!) always stresses, is consistency. Going every 6-7 weeks for touch-ups not only keeps the regrowth in check but also allows for a gradual, healthy lightening process. You really can't rush going from dark to light without risking serious damage. Patience is your best friend! Beyond the salon, maintaining bright, beautiful highlights at home is crucial. While I can't name the exact lightener my aunt uses, I know her salon relies on Paul Mitchell products, which speaks volumes about their quality. For at-home care, Olaplex treatments have been an absolute lifesaver for keeping my hair strong and healthy despite the lightening. I'd also recommend investing in a good quality purple shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for blonde hair. These can help maintain those cool tones between salon visits, preventing brassiness from creeping back in. Look for sulfate-free options to keep your color vibrant longer. Regular deep conditioning masks and heat protectants are also non-negotiables if you use styling tools. Remember, achieving and maintaining a bright, healthy blonde, like the transformation you see (heavy highlights, toner, and even a regular 1-2 inch trim helps!), is a commitment. It's about finding a stylist you trust, understanding the process, and being dedicated to aftercare. It might seem like a lot, but seeing my hair go from my natural dark tones to this vibrant, cool blonde, all while staying healthy, makes every step worth it!

This is almost my exact style as well!🩷
