#onthisday Meet Earl
Earl E. Byrd to be precise. The tiny set of three watercolor, paintings. The tiny set of three watercolor, bird, paintings that tell a happy story. Where Earl E. does in fact get the worm.
My name is Hannah and I’m a watercolor artist painting every bird in North America. For my official contributions I am in fact painting the birds to scale. Sometimes I paint silly, watercolor moments that have nothing to do with obsessive measurements and details. Sometimes we simply paint silly little darling watercolor birds and let them tell me how big they are, what they’re doing and what color they are.
Do you like birds? I’m sure you do. Are you a birder? Maybe. Are you scarred by Alfred Hitchcock and detest birds? I bet you’ll like my bird paintings anyway.
Earl only has 3 sets left at the time I’m posting this video. The original watercolor paintings sold earlier this year. I make the prints myself though and am compulsive about ensuring they match the originals as closely as possible. They’re printed with archival inks (which means they’ll outlast you and your grandchildren). I print them watercolor paper and every print is signed and numbered. There are only ten ever made. So if you get one, you’re in an incredible exclusive club.
Earl E. Byrd is a unique series of three watercolor bird paintings that capture whimsical and joyful moments in birdlife. These works are not just art but a celebration of birds, painted by artist Hannah who is dedicated to painting every bird species in North America, both to scale and through creative interpretations. Collectors and bird enthusiasts will appreciate the exclusivity of this collection. Only ten prints of Earl E. Byrd are made, each carefully printed using archival inks on high-quality watercolor paper, ensuring longevity that will outlast generations. Each print is signed and numbered, adding to its value and appeal to collectors. Archival inks are specially formulated to resist fading and environmental damage, which means owning these prints is an investment in timeless art. The limited quantity and meticulous print quality create a unique opportunity to own exquisite bird art that blends scientific accuracy with playful expression. For those interested in bird art and watercolor techniques, Hannah’s ongoing project to paint every North American bird species offers an extensive, authentic collection that captures the beauty and individuality of each bird. Whether you're an avid birder, a lover of nature-inspired art, or simply someone who appreciates delicate watercolor paintings, the Earl E. Byrd set makes a perfect addition to your collection. This series also invites a broader conversation about the joy birds bring to our lives, making it accessible to everyone—even those who might have had a less favorable impression of birds due to popular culture. The paintings tell a happy story where Earl indeed gets the worm, and the small size of the paintings adds to their charm and intimacy. Overall, owning one of these limited edition prints is not only about appreciating fine art but also joining an exclusive community of enthusiasts who value artistic devotion to nature and the bird species that inhabit North America. Act quickly, as only a few prints remain, making this a rare chance to acquire a beautiful piece of bird art history.
