My favorite Uncle fell off a roof yesterday. He’s okay (strictly speaking) but he’s got a long recovery road ahead. He won’t be able to work for a while with all that he’s healing from and has at least one more surgery ahed of himself. This in addition to the length orthopedic repairs he had done yesterday on his broken bones.

If we haven’t met, my name is Hannah and I’m a watercolor artist painting every bird in North America. The only thing in this world I’m more obsessed with than birds is my family. We are a wonderfully codependent group the likes of which I have never found elsewhere.

This man has been just as much of an influence in my life growing up as my father. He gave me one of my first jobs. I lived with him in college while flailing through what I wanted to do with my life. He was the officiant at my wedding. He has single handedly made me laugh in some of my darkest seasons. He is the kindest, friendliest most wonderful human. Has never met a stranger and constantly goes and above and beyond the voice of reason to help people in need.
