2026 Strong with PF 💜
Starting January off strong 💪✨
Three workouts in, and I’m proud of myself. Not because they were perfect, but because I made the time and showed up.
Life on the road is a lot. My schedule changes constantly, rest isn’t always ideal, and managing Crohn’s disease and diabetes means I have to move with intention and listen to my body. Some days that looks like going lighter, slower, or just getting in what I can—and that still counts.
These workouts remind me that consistency doesn’t have to be extreme. It’s finding a Planet Fitness near wherever I land, adjusting based on how I feel, and choosing movement even when it would be easier to skip it. It’s doing what I can instead of waiting for the “perfect” day.
Fitness for me isn’t about punishment or pushing past pain. It’s about sustainability, strength, and keeping my body healthy enough to keep doing this life. Trucking teaches you how to adapt, and the gym is no different.
One workout at a time. One choice at a time. That’s how this year is starting.

Maintaining a fitness routine while living the trucker life, especially with chronic health conditions like Crohn’s disease and diabetes, is truly challenging but incredibly rewarding. Through my experience, consistency—not perfection—is key. By finding accessible gyms like Planet Fitness wherever I am, I can adapt workouts to how my body feels each day. For example, on days when energy is low or symptoms flare, I focus on lighter weights or slower movements, like controlled hip abductor exercises or core strengthening using machines. These sessions allow me to keep moving without pushing into pain or injury. Using gym machines such as the leg press, shoulder press, and abdominal equipment helps maintain strength and endurance while minimizing strain. Also, cardio finishers on the treadmill with variable incline and speed settings enhance cardiovascular health without overwhelming fatigue. With a trucker’s unpredictable schedule, having a flexible, sustainable workout plan that accommodates modifications is vital for long-term wellness. Listening to my body’s signals means I prioritize recovery and rest when needed, helping to manage blood sugar levels and digestive health effectively. The mindset shift from punishing workouts to empowerment through movement has kept my fitness journey enjoyable and achievable. For fellow truckers or anyone managing similar health concerns, I recommend setting realistic goals, embracing the imperfect days, and celebrating every effort made—because showing up is about the journey, not just the destination. In 2026, I encourage you to find your local Planet Fitness, move intentionally, and build strength that supports your demanding lifestyle one step at a time.
