Everything In My 2 Year Old’s Easter Basket 🐰✨🌷

If anyone needs any last minute ideas for their kid’s baskets hopefully this helps!

I try to keep things as minimal as possible when it comes to baskets, really focusing in on outdoor play supplies, current interests (hence the trains and butterfly lol), and one cleaner treat. But even I went a little over my initial budget this year! Next year we’ll try to be a bit stricter and/or thrift, especially since there’ll be two!

For my 2-year-old, I prioritized outdoor play items like sidewalk chalk and a bubble wand because they not only encourage active play but also engage sensory development. The small jungle train set sparked a lot of joy, perfectly matching my child’s current fascination with trains, showing how tuning into children's interests enhances their excitement. One thing I learned is the value of including a single, cleaner treat — like Annie's organic gummy bunnies — to keep indulgence healthier and more mindful. These treats are flavored with natural ingredients and real fruit juice, offering a sweet snack parents can feel better about. It’s worth noting the affordability of these thoughtful choices—most items were found at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, or Dollar General, keeping the total under $30. For future baskets, I’m planning to incorporate more thrifted or gently used toys, especially since a second little one will be joining the fun. This approach not only saves money but also promotes sustainability. Lastly, including a favorite book, such as "Little Bear" by Else Holmelund Minarik, adds a cozy storytime element that nurtures a love of reading. Overall, these simple but purposeful basket selections demonstrate how a blend of play supplies, books, and one natural treat can offer a joyful and enriching Easter experience without overwhelming the budget or space. If you’re still putting together baskets last minute, consider these ideas to combine fun, education, and wellness in a compact, affordable way.
