Homemade pita crackers

I love to figure out new things to make, but this was an accident. My dough for bread didn't rise and I didnt want to throw the dough out!

So I used chatgpt for help and it suggested crackers!

- preheat 9ven to 375

-roll out into a thin sheet

- cut it into strips making a square.

-put on parchment paper.

-use olive oil and brush it on the dough and add whatever seasoning

-bake for 7 min, flip and bake for 7 more.

-put them in an air tight container and place in the refrigerator.

I learned this handy trick after a baking mishap where my bread dough failed to rise. Thanks to a quick chat with ChatGPT, I found a creative and tasty way to save the dough. Here’s what I found especially helpful when making pita crackers from leftover dough: rolling the dough out as thin as possible really makes a difference—it helps the crackers crisp up nicely in the oven. Brushing olive oil over the surface before baking not only prevents sticking but adds a rich flavor. I love sprinkling a mix of sea salt, garlic powder, and dried herbs like oregano or rosemary on top for an extra punch of taste. Baking them at 375°F for about 7 minutes on each side works great; the flipping ensures even browning on both sides. Once baked, storing the crackers in an airtight container in the fridge keeps them fresh and crunchy for days. These homemade pita crackers make a fantastic snack paired with dips like hummus or tzatziki, or just on their own whenever a crunchy craving strikes. It’s a wonderful way to reduce food waste and turn a baking flop into a new favorite treat. Plus, it’s fun experimenting with different seasoning combinations to suit your taste. Give it a try—you may find a new staple snack that's quick, easy, and delicious!
