Come spend an evening in my life as a mom of 4! 🥰
Evenings, around here are always so busy! But, being a mother to 4 kiddos is the best feeling in the world! #momslife #mydailylife
You know those evenings? The ones where time seems to speed up even as your energy levels plummet? That’s pretty much every evening in my house as a mom of four. When people ask me what the 'life of a mom with four' is truly like, my mind immediately jumps to these hours between dinner and bedtime. It's a whirlwind, but one I wouldn't trade for anything. After school, it's a mad dash. Snacks, homework battles, and figuring out what everyone wants for dinner – which, let's be honest, is usually four different things! Then comes the kitchen cleanup. I swear, my dishwasher is the hardest working appliance in our home. It feels like "unloading & loading the dishwasher" is a continuous loop, "over and over again," sometimes multiple times a day, just to keep up with the sheer volume of dishes four growing kids (and two adults) generate. And don't even get me started on the "endless amount of laundry." It’s a mountain that never shrinks, no matter how many loads I do! It's tempting to just leave it, but then tomorrow's chaos would be even worse. But amidst the chores and the constant calls for "Mom!", there are these incredible pockets of joy. Watching the "kiddos jumping" and dancing around, full of boundless energy, always brings a smile to my face. Sometimes, we'll gather around the TV for some family fun, and it's amazing how much joy "Old Mario and Nintendo" can still bring to a new generation. Hearing their laughter, seeing them work together (or argue playfully over who gets to be Luigi), these are the moments that truly define my evenings. It's not just about managing the household; it's about making memories, even in the midst of the mess. I've learned that survival as a mom of four isn't about perfection; it's about finding small victories and moments of peace. My secret? A little bit of planning, a lot of patience, and a dedicated unwind ritual. Once the last kiddo is tucked into bed, and the house finally quiets down, that’s my moment. Sometimes it’s just a few minutes of quiet reading, or catching up on a show. Other times, it's indulging in a simple pleasure, like a cold drink. I recently discovered "Alani breezeberry," and let me tell you, that first sip after a long day sometimes feels like "what heaven tastes like." It’s a small, sweet reward for making it through another gloriously chaotic evening. Being a mom of four means embracing the beautiful mess. It means accepting that some days will be harder than others, that the house won’t always be spotless, and that quiet moments are hard-won. But it also means a house full of love, laughter, and constant surprises. It’s challenging, yes, but overwhelmingly, it’s the most rewarding job in the world.
