I blame no one in this situation. We only take lesson learned here! #fyp #fyy #mamalanlan #bobabusiness #smallbusiness
Running a small boba business often means navigating unexpected challenges, just like the time we had to redo 15 drinks because of order confusion. One of the key takeaways from this experience was how crucial it is to fully understand the customer's needs upfront. When we received a call ordering 15 small fruity drinks with mango and strawberry popping boba, we initially assumed they were for adults since no caffeine preference was clearly stated. However, it turned out the drinks were intended for a kids’ birthday party, meaning the fruit teas had to be caffeine-free and tailored appropriately. This mix-up highlighted the importance of asking detailed questions, such as whether caffeine is desired or if the drinks are meant for children. Clear communication at the point of order-taking prevents misunderstandings and wasted resources. Even though redoing the order meant losing money, maintaining the quality and consistency of our fruit teas was non-negotiable. Our business prides itself on using real tea and fresh ingredients to offer a superior product that customers remember positively. Moreover, this incident emphasized the value of taking responsibility and providing excellent customer service. We called the customer back to explain the situation and offered to remake the drinks correctly. The customer's appreciation for our honesty reinforced the idea that transparency builds trust and loyalty. If you’re in a similar small business, never underestimate how one phone call or interaction can impact your brand reputation. Paying close attention to customer details, double-checking orders, and owning up to mistakes can transform challenges into opportunities to stand out. At the end of the day, it’s not just about making drinks but creating memorable experiences that make customers say, "Wow, this is a great boba place!"
