Replying to @V Definitely had a fun time doodling with Idia 💙 #disneylandcalifornia #twst #twistedwonderland #idiashroud #hades
OMG, you guys, I just had the most incredible time at Disneyland California Adventure's Animation Academy! If you're a fan of Disney and maybe even a little bit of Twisted Wonderland, you HAVE to check this out. I seriously had a blast doodling with none other than Idia! Yes, you read that right – I got to draw the Housewarden of Ignihyde, Idia Shroud, right there in the park. The Animation Academy is such a hidden gem. It's located in the Hollywood Land area, and it’s a fantastic way to take a break from the rides and get creative. They usually have different characters you can learn to draw throughout the day. When I heard they were doing Hades, I knew I had to go. And then, as a bonus, I decided to add a little 'shy Idia' in the corner of my drawing! It was so cool to connect the Lord of the Underworld from Hercules with my favorite gamer ghost, Idia Shroud, who's inspired by him. The instructor was amazing – so energetic and funny! They walk you through every step, starting with simple shapes like an egg for the head, which is pretty standard for animation. It was hilarious when our artist accidentally kept calling Hades 'Zeus' – definitely made everyone chuckle! What I loved most was learning all these cool 'Hercules' fun facts while we drew. Did you know Hades was originally designed with Jack Nicholson in mind? And he was going to be a much more somber, dramatic villain, similar to Ursula, before Jack Nicholson's unique delivery style changed everything, making him sound more like a 'sleazy car salesman' – which, honestly, is iconic! Plus, they pointed out how Hades' skull looks like a muffin, and now I can't unsee it. They mentioned that for more complex sketches, it might take a bit longer than the usual 15 minutes, sometimes up to 20, which is totally fine by me—more drawing time! It's such a unique opportunity to learn directly from Disney animators (or at least, people trained in their style). I highly recommend taking advantage of it if you're ever in the park. It's a fantastic, free experience that offers a wonderful keepsake. My Hades and Idia drawing is now a treasured memory from my trip! It felt so special to combine my love for Twisted Wonderland with classic Disney. Drawing Idia, even just a little doodle, alongside the official Disney Hades felt like a personal crossover event. It really captures the spirit of 'Stay Twisted' in the most fun and creative way imaginable. Don't panic if you think you can't draw; they make it super easy and fun for everyone, from beginners to experienced artists. You just follow along, and before you know it, you’ll have your own masterpiece. It's truly one of my favorite experiences, and I'm definitely going to remember it forever.

yay idia!! he's so cute! both the drawings are so good ❤️😭
