One-Pan Philly Cheesesteak Beef and Noodles

Full recipe below 👇🏻

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef or stew meat

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cups frozen peppers and onions

2 cloves garlic, minced

8 oz egg noodles or any pasta of your choice

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions:

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned.

2. Add the onion and bell peppers and garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften and become fragrant.

3. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

4. Add the uncooked noodles. Stir everything together to ensure the noodles are submerged in the liquid.

5. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed. Stir occasionally to prevent the noodles from sticking to the bottom.

6. Once the noodles are cooked and the beef is tender, sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese on top. Cover the skillet again and let it sit for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.

7. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot. Enjoy!

Read moreIf you're looking to elevate your one-pan Philly cheesesteak and noodle dish, consider experimenting with different types of cheese beyond provolone—cheddar or mozzarella can add a different flavor dimension. Additionally, while this recipe uses ground beef or stew meat, you could try shaved ribeye for a more authentic Philly cheesesteak experience. Adding a splash of milk or cream to the noodles during cooking can create a creamier texture, similar to a mac and cheese. For seasoning, besides paprika and garlic powder, incorporating a premixed Philly cheesesteak seasoning blend available in stores can enhance the flavor complexity. In terms of serving, this dish pairs wonderfully with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal. Leftovers reheat well and can also be used as a filling for cheese steak rolls or sandwiches. If you want to turn this into a casserole, simply transfer the cooked mixture to a baking dish, top with extra cheese and breadcrumbs, and bake until bubbly for a comforting twist. Lastly, mindful techniques such as sautéing the onions and peppers until caramelized bring out a sweeter flavor, making the dish even more delightful.
