Save for your next salon visit to get that PIXIE✨💖

I always prefer a more feminine and softer looking pixie on myself. Long enough to have some wispy-ness but short enough to show off your facial feautures.

Some things to know before going short:

Before your haircut, make sure you save plenty of inspiration pictures of what you DO like so you come prepared.

Be prepared to feel so out of your comfort zone with your new short hair, especially if you’ve never gone short before

You’ll have to find the right products that work for your short hair and the texture of your hair. My go to products are @Tribal Chimp hair powder for volume and texture and @got2b molding paste. Both are under $10

One thing I always tell people is that I’d rather try it out knowing I’ve always wanted to go short, than live with the regret of not trying. Some people discover how much they love it and that it really brings out their facial features and bone structure. For others, they find out the short hair life just isn’t for them and that’s okay. 💖

And if you’re still here and reading this, show me your pixie or short hair in the comments, PLEASE!!! 👀🥰💖✨

... Read moreChoosing to go for a pixie cut can be one of the most exciting and transformative hair decisions. Having personally switched to a shorter hairstyle, I can relate to the feelings of stepping out of my comfort zone. It really helps to go in prepared, not just by saving photos, but also by mentally picturing how different you may look and feel. To keep the feminine vibe, I find that keeping some wispy layers near the face softens the look and adds versatility. In terms of styling, volume is key. Since short hair doesn’t always have the weight of longer locks, using a good hair powder for texture makes a huge difference. One cheap yet effective product I swear by is a volumizing hair powder—it helps elevate flat roots and gives a playful texture that looks effortlessly chic throughout the day. A molding paste with a matte finish is another staple—it lets you sculpt and hold your pixie without stiffness or greasiness. Another important insight I’ve gathered is embracing the initial adjustment process. Many people find their confidence fluctuates right after the cut because it feels so different. But over time, you start to notice how your facial features like cheekbones, jawline, and eyes really pop with a pixie. The short haircut accentuates your bone structure in beautiful ways that longer hair sometimes hides. If you’re hesitant about maintenance, know that shorter haircuts generally require more frequent trims to keep that perfect shape, so planning ahead for salon visits helps. But many find that the ease of daily styling and the fresh, renewed feeling of a shorter look outweigh these small commitments. Ultimately, trying a pixie cut is about self-expression and confidence. Whether you end up loving it or learning it’s not your style, at least you’ll have no regrets about not trying. And connecting with others who have taken the pixie plunge can be wonderfully supportive and inspiring—sharing experiences and pics can make the transition even more exciting and fun.
