Read more雨の日の新宿御苑って、正直「わざわざ行く?」と思ってたんですが、行ってみたら日本庭園の魅力がいちばん濃く出る天気でした。晴れの日より人が少なくて、池のまわりの静けさを独り占めできる感じ。雨粒が水面に落ちて波紋が広がるのをぼーっと眺めているだけで、時間がゆっくり流れます。 私が特に好きだったのは、日本庭園の池の縁を歩くルート。手入れされた松や低木がしっとり濡れて、緑がいつもより深く見えるんです。芝生も雨で色が濃くなって、奥の森まで一体に見えるのが最高。写真を撮るなら、水面の波紋が写る角度を意識すると「雨の日本庭園」っぽさが出ます。鳥が池にいることもあって、雨の日のほうが自然の気配を近く感じました。 「新宿御苑=木漏れ日」のイメージが強いけど、雨の日は木漏れ日がない分、光がやわらかくてコントラストが落ち着きます。逆にそれが、庭園の曲線や石、灯籠の存在感を引き立ててくれる印象でした。晴天のキラキラとは別の、しっとりした風景を探すのが楽しいです。 雨の日に行くなら、足元対策は大事。私は滑りにくい靴で行って正解でした。傘は大きめが安心で、池の近くは風が抜ける場所もあるので、体感温度が下がりやすいです。あと、土砂降りになったときは無理せず休憩できる場所を先に把握しておくと気持ちがラク。結果的に、雨音を聞きながらのんびり過ごす時間がいちばん贅沢でした。 同じ新宿御苑でも、雨の日の日本庭園は「風景」と「空気」が別物。次は小雨の日も狙って、池の表情や緑の見え方の違いを比べてみたいと思います。
