It's okay to mourn the child you never got to be

When we never got to be that child, it's okay to mourn that child. We had to grow up too fast, or were forced into a life we didn't want or shouldn't have ever seen. So when we get to a certain point in our life it's time to mourn that poor child we never got to be... Even though sometimes it's okay to be a child again. We gotta heal our inner child. 🖤🖤🖤

... Read moreMourning the child you never became can be a complex emotional experience. Many individuals find themselves grappling with the loss of innocence and the burdens of adulthood. It’s crucial to recognize that unprocessed grief can manifest in various ways, impacting mental health and personal growth. Acknowledging this grief allows for healing and can serve as a pathway to emotional freedom. Healing your inner child involves nurturing that abandoned part of yourself that still yearns for validation and love. Practices such as journaling, therapy, or creative arts can facilitate this healing. Mindfulness techniques may also aid in reconnecting with your emotions, providing a safe space to express feelings that were previously suppressed. Engaging in supportive communities focused on inner child work can be beneficial. Sharing experiences with others who understand the nuanced journey of healing can foster connection and a sense of unity. By embracing your inner child, acknowledging their pain, and nurturing their needs, healing becomes not just a possibility but a reality. Remember, it's okay to mourn and it's a vital step towards self-acceptance and empowerment. Allow yourself to feel, grieve, and ultimately reclaim the joy of simply being. Your journey towards healing is uniquely yours, and it deserves to be honored.

I support all of those who grew up to fast, never had anyone to tuck them in, walk them to school or comfort when you needed it. All of those days spent daydreaming a new imaged life, those nights crying into your pillow because you don't understand what you did wrong, for the crime of having needs that were never going to be met. For just trying to survive but not believing you will make it to 25, for those who had no moral support when you skinned your knee, or had scary encounters with others. For those who needed adults around to take accountability and not use you as a battering ram. Those that cut, just to feel something that they could control. I'm 48yrs old, youngest of 7, was not only the black sheep but got the punishment for anything "I let" my siblings do, an "accident ", unwanted child, who learned to always be quiet around adults and never commit the sin of showing emotions because only the weak complain, hurt or ask for anything I was an "accident ", and shown everyone day how much of a burden I was if I didn't do everything on my own, get dressed, get food, walk to school ... which later turned into taking the city bus, 1 hour early and home as late as possible to avoid being told how much of a looser I was. I learned to take beatings, stone cold, never cry or whimper even when I bled ... I know that you needed care, unconditional Love and support when you weren't sure of what to do.. for me, being a kid was a living nightmare, one I was very glad to be out of at 17yrs old when I graduated and left home.. Took me years to understand I was worthy of everything any kid ever wanted... longer to understand I did nothing to deserve it. I'm married now, my kids are adults and I'd never want to repeat the cycle.. but I stand behind those that do.. those who are soft hearted but not weak, you are courageous, you are brave enough to stand in the fire, to not let anyone break you. To give yourself permission to Feel, to Love and more over to be Loved ❤️
