DESCANSA!!!!

Like many, I used to strive to be the perfect mother, wife, professional, and homemaker, trying to excel at all roles simultaneously. But constantly pushing myself without pause led to burnout and exhaustion. One important lesson is that when your body signals the need to slow down, it’s crucial to listen. At first, I felt guilty about stepping back and leaving daily chores or work unfinished, but I soon realized that taking time to recharge actually made me more effective and joyful in all aspects of life. Simple acts like going for a walk, spending time in nature, or doing physical exercises at the gym helped me reconnect with myself. I started caring more about wearing clothes that made me feel good, getting enough sleep, and scheduling moments just for my enjoyment. These are not acts of selfishness but necessary practices of self-love that fuel our resilience. It’s essential to remember that while children grow, relationships may change, jobs come and go, and houses inevitably get messy, your health and emotional well-being are irreplaceable. Taking care of yourself is the foundation for being able to support others effectively. Prioritizing yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s a vital responsibility. If you’re finding it hard to take a break, start small. Commit to a few minutes a day dedicated to something purely for your happiness. Over time, these moments build up your strength and perspective. Rest recharges not just your body but your soul, and it empowers you to live authentically and joyfully.
