✨🤔 Will AI Replace REAL Therapists?! 🤨✨
✨ I have to admit… AI is crazy impressive. It can write, analyze, respond, and even check in on your mental health now. But it can also be SCARY and cross limits! As someone who actually works in the mental health field, I’ve caught myself wondering… can it really replace the kind of connection that therapy REQUIRES? 🤔
✨ When I think about my sessions, they’re not just about coping skills or treatment plans. It’s the human stuff that makes therapy work, so those moments of silence, the “I get it” or “wtf are you doing?” looks, the laughter, the tears, the sense of being seen and heard. You can’t really program that or plug that in.
✨ Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not against AI as it can be helpful to an extent. I think it has a real purpose in the space, especially when it comes to accessibility and giving people some kind of support when therapy isn’t available. BUT☝🏾, there’s something irreplaceable about sitting with another human being who actually FEELS with you, not just responds to you. Moreover, AI co-signs a lot of behavior, which is NOT always good, especially if you’re in a crisis and/or contemplating making a rash or harmful decision…
✨ For me, tech should support therapy, not replace it. Finding that balance between innovation and humanity is the key. ❤️

Using AI for therapy is fine since it pulls from resources that are publicly available or accessible online. So, if folks want a full explanation that puts things in perspective efficiently, then it could be good. However, AI cannot replicate human compassion or personal experiences. Being able to tell a story to put things in perspective isn’t something AI can just pull from anywhere.
