✨ The natural hair community has been through some THINGS, okay?? From brands switching formulas, to companies pretending to be “for us” until they sell out, to products that smell amazing but leave your curls looking crunchy and brittle 😭💀.

✨ In my opinion, Shea Moisture takes the cake for worst. The formulas? All over the place. The results? Inconsistent. The scents? Huge hit or miss. And don’t wind me up on how the performance changed once the brand switched ownership a few years back, I felt that shift IMMEDIATELY.

Cantù! I’m technically type 2b/c wavy with a head full of ringlets but when I decided to start my natural curly hair journey, the Cantù curl activator was my jam. But I swear over time it dried my hair out and the flakiness was unreal. I’ll be honest, I’ve been sticking with Dove, NYM, L’Oréal, Cake and Garnier curl bond conditioner and it’s done my hair and scalp good.
