Jacksonville Zoo

One of the absolute highlights of my recent trip to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens was getting up close with those magnificent creatures! The Jacksonville Zoo has done a wonderful job creating a spacious and engaging habitat for them, making it feel like you’re transported to their natural environment. I’d recommend seeking out any keeper talks if they’re scheduled during your visit; learning about the elephants from the experts adds so much depth to the experience. You might even catch them playing in their water features or interacting with enrichment toys. It’s truly fascinating to observe their movements and interactions within their herd. Overall, my afternoon at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens was filled with wonder. From the thrill of feeding giraffes to the awe of watching the elephants, it’s an adventure for all ages. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes because there's a lot to explore, and bring a water bottle, especially if you're visiting during warmer Florida months. Going early in the morning often provides cooler temperatures and more active animals.
