Because I tried so many things.
Different shampoos. Treatments that promised thickness and growth. Oils and serums and masks. I was not cutting corners or being inconsistent. I was showing up for my hair and getting nothing back.
What I did not understand was that no topical product can fix what is happening at the follicle level if the problem is internal.
Your hair follicles respond to what is happening inside your body. Your cortisol levels, your collagen production, your nutrient absorption, your hormone balance. When any of those things are off your hair reflects it and no amount of external product is going to override what your biology is doing.
I had to address both sides before anything actually changed. The right products externally and the right support internally. When I did both together the difference was something no shampoo alone had ever come close to producing.

From my personal experience, one of the biggest mistakes I made was relying solely on external hair products without considering internal health. Even though I tried countless shampoos, oils, and treatments promising voluminous and thick hair, none gave me lasting results because they didn’t address the root causes inside my body. Hair follicles are extremely sensitive to internal signals. For example, elevated cortisol levels due to stress can weaken your hair's strength and growth. Likewise, collagen production plays a key role in maintaining scalp elasticity and hair follicle integrity. Without sufficient collagen, hair can become brittle. I also learned that nutrient absorption, especially vitamins like biotin, vitamin D, and iron, are crucial—if your body isn’t absorbing these well, hair growth stalls. Hormonal imbalances—whether from thyroid issues or fluctuations related to age or lifestyle—also have a profound effect on hair health. I noticed strand thinning correlated with hormonal shifts before I got these checked and managed. My breakthrough came when I combined external treatments with a focus on internal wellness. I started managing my stress better to lower cortisol, incorporated collagen supplements, and optimized my diet for nutrient-rich foods supporting hair growth. Using topical products became effective only because my follicles were healthier from within. After six months of this combined approach, I witnessed significant hair transformation—not just thicker strands but also improved scalp condition and less shedding. This taught me that consistency in both internal care and external maintenance is essential. If you’ve been frustrated by hair products that don’t work, I encourage you to look inward. Supporting your body’s overall health is just as important as applying high-quality shampoos or serums. This holistic method truly made the difference for me and can for you too.
