Every mom knows silence is suspicious… but sometimes it turns into the sweetest surprise🥹
As a mom, I’ve often learned that silence in the house usually means one of two things: trouble or a little surprise brewing. In my experience with toddlers—especially when you have closely aged siblings like Irish twins—the quiet moments can be the most unpredictable. I remember countless times checking on them only to find them engaged in the sweetest mischief or snuggling quietly together. Having Irish twins, children born within 12 months of each other, brings its own unique set of joys and challenges. Their close age means they’re often playing side by side, sometimes causing a surprising amount of silence that makes any mom suspicious. But that silence is often a prelude to the sweetest moments, like finding them sharing a toy or whispering a secret, evidencing the special bond they share. From my time as a stay-at-home mom and my experience in the NICU, I’ve seen how important these quiet bonding moments are for toddlers’ emotional growth. These moments strengthen their sibling connection and provide parents with precious memories. So next time your kids’ silence worries you, try to see it as a little invitation to discover a heartwarming surprise. It’s these everyday glimpses of childhood that make motherhood so rewarding and full of love.
