$7 banana bread matcha in BUANGKOK???

back on part 4 of the NORTH EAST best BACK SIDE series, & who said Buangkok has nothing?? because i finally managed to try this matcha place i chanced upon on IG AND they has some interesting flavours to boost 🥵

📍 mat.cha haus

🏡 912 hougang street 91, singapore 530912

🚌 11 min bus ride from Buangkok MRT station exit B

what i tried 🐢:

🍌 banana bread matcha latte $7 🥖

adding banana bread to matcha was an interesting boost of sweet to the usual 🌴 earthy 🌴 matcha undertones:”) however i was slightly disappointed as the banana bread came as a syrup compote 🍶rather than actual 🥯 banana bread 🥯 chunks which would have been a nice touch to chew on🫦HAHAHA BUT the taste of the syrup was still good but personally may not have justified the $2 more as compared to the OG latte ✊

🇹🇭 cha-yen (thai tea) matcha latte $6 🍵

omg this was the thai green milk tea that we all drink at hho OR thai stores BUT ✨ upgraded ✨ !! instead of the usual sweet punch of green tea that u usually get, the savoury matcha really complimented the sweet thai tea 😋

TLDR

pros 😗

- small but really interesting variety of matcha combos like toasted marshmallow 🍯 or banana bread (u can check out their current menu on the 3rd pg before heading down🤤)

- it was a really smooth matcha to sip on 🌬️PLUS they have cute bottled options too, on top of the usual cups for the SAME PRICE! 🕺really convenient for u to dabao to your classes or window shop at supermarket 🧑‍🌾

- their house was near the bus stop 🚎 PLUS there are seats 🪑 below the block for u to sip right into ur matcha:”)

cons:🥺

- not the most BANG 💥 for ur bucks 💰 due to its price in relative to the cup size BUT overall still really decent for u to try out their flavour combos especially if you’re in the area!

- PLEASE try their zero sugar option instead because regular sweetness for their og matcha was way too sweet for us HAHAH 🥹 kinda wished there were more sweetness options:”)

- quite ulu i must say but it’s right opp IMH and in the middle of buangkok and hougang mrt:”) 🤌

overall it was a pretty decent matcha place with interesting combis to try from!! i’ll be back to try their toasted marshmallow one soon 🥵

... Read moreIf you're exploring Buangkok and craving a unique matcha experience, Mat.cha Haus is definitely worth a visit. Beyond the banana bread matcha latte, their menu offers other intriguing flavors like toasted marshmallow and cha yen matcha latte that blend traditional and creative tastes. From my visits, I appreciated how the matcha's smooth earthiness balances with sweet or savory add-ons, making each sip exciting. One tip: opt for the zero sugar version if you prefer a less sweet drink, as their regular sweetness can sometimes be overpowering. The shop’s proximity to the bus stop makes it easy to pop by, and the casual seating under the block creates a relaxed vibe perfect for a quick break or catch-up session. Also, I found their bottled matcha options handy for takeaway when you want a portable treat for classes or errands. While the price is a bit on the higher side for the cup size, trying these unique combos once is a fun experience, especially if you enjoy matcha. I’m personally looking forward to going back to try their toasted marshmallow matcha latte soon! For matcha lovers in the east region, Mat.cha Haus brings some unexpected flavor freshness to Buangkok.
