From my experience working with clients over 40, under-eye puffiness is one of the most common concerns, yet many people don't realize that the cause often goes beyond just using an anti-puffiness cream. Factors like fluid retention, poor sleep, allergies, and even diet can contribute significantly to under-eye bags. Applying the right product is important, but it’s equally essential to address these lifestyle factors. I always encourage my clients to gently massage the under-eye area to boost lymphatic drainage. Using light, upward strokes with your ring finger can help reduce fluid buildup and improve circulation. Additionally, incorporating ingredients such as caffeine, peptides, and hyaluronic acid in your eye creams can make a difference by stimulating circulation and hydrating the delicate skin. Another piece of advice I give regularly is to be mindful of how you apply your eye products. Heavy-handed application or layering multiple products without proper absorption can cause irritation or worsen puffiness. Lastly, consider your overall health habits. Staying hydrated, reducing salt intake, and getting enough restful sleep all contribute to minimizing under-eye puffiness. If allergies are involved, managing them effectively can prevent chronic puffiness and dark circles. These combined efforts often yield better results than relying solely on anti-puffiness creams. Tailoring your regimen to your unique skin and lifestyle needs can revitalize your under-eye area, especially as skin matures beyond 40 years old.
