... Read moreIt's funny, I often see people asking 'why is Marshalls so bad?' and I used to wonder about it too. I mean, it's a treasure hunt, right? But after my recent experience with that half-drank cup of water left on the shelf, it really clicked for me. It's not Marshalls itself that's 'bad' – it's often the lack of common courtesy from some shoppers that creates a less-than-ideal environment for everyone, especially the hard-working staff. That abandoned cup of water wasn't an isolated incident. How many times have you walked through a Marshalls, or TJ Maxx, or any discount retailer, and seen clothing tossed haphazardly on racks, items clearly ripped from their packaging and left behind, or even worse, fitting rooms that look like a tornado hit them? I've seen shoes tried on and then just kicked off in the middle of an aisle, or coffee cups (yes, more drinks!) strategically placed on a display shelf, completely forgotten. It makes you wonder if these people would do this in their own homes, or if they just assume someone else will magically clean up after them. This kind of inconsiderate behavior makes the shopping experience 'bad' for other customers too. It's harder to find what you're looking for when everything is in disarray. But more importantly, it puts an immense and unfair burden on the employees. As the OCR noted, 'customer service doesn't mean that they are maids.' These workers are already busy with stocking shelves, helping customers, and maintaining the store. Having to constantly clean up after adult messes just adds to their stress and workload. It's truly a lack of respect for the hard worker – they deserve better. I often think about what my parents taught me about manners and common courtesy. It's really simple: treat others how you want to be treated, and leave a place better than you found it, or at least as good. Picking up after yourself, putting clothes back on hangers (even if it's not the perfect spot), using a trash can for your empty water bottle – these are small acts that make a huge difference. Imagine if everyone did that! Marshalls wouldn't be 'bad' at all; it would be a much more pleasant place for both shoppers and staff. So, the next time you're wondering 'why is Marshalls so bad?', take a moment to observe the customer behavior around you. And more importantly, take a moment to be part of the solution. A little common courtesy goes a long way in making these stores, and the jobs of the people who work there, a whole lot better. Let's all try to show more respect and make every shopping trip a positive experience for everyone involved.

You know how many times I’ve accidentally left my drink somewhere while shopping and couldn’t remember where I set it down. It’s not that serious!
