DIY HALLOWEEN SENSORY BIN
I always love a good themed sensory bin and with Halloween just around the corner this one was a big hit for my 3 year old!
Sensory bins are such a great activity and the options for creating one are endless. You can keep it simple! Everything I used for this bin was found at the dollar store.
Dried black beans make the perfect base for this Halloween sensory bin. Then I just added any accessories that fit the theme.
This kept my toddler busy for so long and he had a blast playing with it!

Sensory bins are a fantastic way to engage toddlers in playful learning that supports their sensory development and fine motor skills. For this Halloween sensory bin, using dried black beans as the base is not only cost-effective but also offers a unique tactile experience with their smooth, small texture. Adding themed elements such as mini jack-o-lanterns, pom poms, and spider rings enhances the imaginative aspect of the bin. These accessories encourage children to explore visually and through touch, sparking creativity and storytelling. Using items from the dollar store makes this DIY project accessible to many families, and it can be reused each year with new accessories to keep it exciting. To elevate the sensory experience, consider mixing in other filler materials like colored rice, pasta shapes, or even scented play dough for additional sensory stimulation. Always supervise toddlers during sensory play to prevent choking hazards and ensure safe interaction with small items. This Halloween sensory bin is ideal for developing hand-eye coordination, improving focus, and encouraging independent play. It also serves as a perfect indoor activity on chilly fall days, making holiday preparation both educational and entertaining for toddlers and caregivers alike.
